Living or raw foods are uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts,
seeds, sprouts, and sprouted legumes/grains. They are devoid
of all animal products.

Heating over 104 degrees destroys up to 85% of viital minerals
and enzymes. Without enzymes we wouldn't be able to blink our
eyes. Demineralization is a primary cause of aging, illness,
lack of energy, and mental disorders. Eating raw cleanses the
system of physical and emotional ailments, encourages healing
from the inside out and builds a strong immunity system. Eat
raw for perfect digestion, longevity, beauty, well being and
supreme health. Live foods assist in stripping away layers of
the body and mind to reveal our true nature. Weight loss happens
effortlessly as the body achieves balance. Live foods have less
impact on the environment and contribute to planetary awareness
and sustainability.

Organic foods are free of pesticides and chemicals. Free radicals
caused by these compounds store in the body's tissue and organs,
contributing to disease. A conventional crop is in transistion
for 7 years before the soil is regenerated enough to be certified
organic. In season organic produce generally tastes better and
has more life force. Organic foods support the future of the
planet.

* Kafe on Monkey Forest Road - this is a central hub where everyone hangs out
* Bali Buddha - amazing health food store, there's a great veg place upstairs that rawfood, across from this place, close to the main road is where the best money changing place is.
* Yoga Barn, this is the main yoga place, downstairs is an all raw place
* Sari Organic, amazing veg place with raw food thats about 1km into a rice patty field
* Theres a sauna that also does eco waxing on Dewarta, its called Fresh, its close to Kafe
* There are massage places absolutely everywhere
* Check out the monkey forest (down from Kafe, on Monkey Forest Road)
* There's amazing shopping everywhere... I especially like the shops near the monkey forest - there are some massage places around there I like as well.
* There's a big amazing market - you can find durian and fruit there as well - on the main road, between Monkey Forest... and, hmmm, I forgot the name of the road, its very obvious though... I'd recommend shopping there first before any place else... be sure to bargain - they usually up the prices by about 1/3.
* ask where the volcano is where the hot springs are - its close by, probably about 45 minutes away... there's a main temple there.
* I recommend staying away from the big cities - the beaches are there, yet they are tourist traps... ask where the beaches are that are away from the main tourist places... they will be less expensive. |
